so tell us about yourself
i was born on the upper east side of manhattan to james and evelyn parker on february 5th, 1992. i’m the youngest of two. my brother, rob, is 15 years older than me, which is a little weird. dad is an heir to a fortune and mom’s a designer. i want to do what my brother does—act—so that’s what i’m trying to accomplish. i tried going to nyu, but dropped out after a semester and enrolled in the conservatory since rob spoke highly of it. but it’s odd having him as a teacher because i’ll always know him as my brother.
how long have you wanted to follow in your brother’s footsteps?
ever since i can remember, to be completely honest. since he’s a decade and a half older than me and has so much more experience, i always wanted to model myself after him. he’s the golden child, even if he acts modest about it. that’s always kind of annoying. he says he has faith in me, but he hasn’t put me on the stage yet.
have you made attempts to get on the stage like your brother was at your age?
several. and every day that passes that i’m not is frustrating. i wish i was on that stage right now, but rob tells me to give it time. well he barely had to try, so he’s one to talk. i’m sick of school. i just want to be noticed.
do you have any close friends at the conservatory?
a few. i try not to keep too many people close because i know i’ll be competing with them for roles one day and i don’t want things to get messy. but i have a couple people i keep close to me. and before you ask, no i don’t have a significant other…yet. hell, my brother didn’t date until he was in his late twenties. i don’t think i have to rush things just yet on that.
do you have a backup plan if the acting thing doesn’t work out?
why wouldn’t it? but to answer the question, no. i don’t. this is all i want to do. if i can be as good—or better—than rob, then i’ll be a light in my parents’ life. i just want them to be proud of me, and be able to do the amazing things my brother has.
