This is Madeline. She's 33 years old and has been the dance instructor at MCOA for the last three years along with her boyfriend, Rob Parker. The pair have been together for six years and started teaching at the conservatory the same year. She used to be a Broadway performer, but gave it up in order to teach kids the way she was taught. She wants to make a difference in the lives of her students and has found a new purpose in life as an instructor. MCOA is her alma mater and she fell in love with the school all over again when she returned to teach. She once thought that she was born to be on the stage, but now believes her true calling in life is to teach others the craft. She can sense that her boyfriend Rob is going to propose soon after six years of being together, and she has mixed feelings about marriage and family. However, she loves her boyfriend and would do anything if it would make him happy.

so merry thinks ballet is dumb and prissy. she's a hip hop dancer but is required to take ballet as part of her major. so while she'd rather be wearing jeans and a hoodie, madeline is making her were tights and tutus. that doesn't sit well with merry, so she makes snarky comments from the back of the room. so maybe as sort of a requirement to pass the class, madeline could make her do a duet or something for the end of year show? which will make merry really dislike her but eventually cause her to grow as a dancer. just a thought.
