so tell us about yourself
alright. my name is landon baizen, i'm the dean of admissions here at manhattan conservatory of the arts. as a college student, i studied acting and got my ph.d. in theater. after college, i did do the film industry. i was in about five films before i realized i was in the wrong career. i went back to school for education, met a girl, fell in love, got married, had a baby boy, then got a job at mcoa. it wasn't until about three years later did i get the dean of admissions job. it was hard work, but i accomplished what i set out to do.
what about your wife and son? what are they like?
well my son, joaquin, is five years old going on sixteen. he's already girl crazy and ready to drive. he drives his toy cars around everything. the living room, the bed, even in the car. every time we get in the car, he asks if he can drive. he looks exactly like his mother. his mom, elizabeth, my wife, died a year and a half ago. she was an anorexic and her heart just stopped one day. liz had a lot of problems, most of which we were getting through, but the anorexia is what got her. i miss her and will always love her, but i miss what she was to joaquin most of all.
would you ever get married again? could it be to someone you work with?
i would love to get married again, given the right woman came a long. as for someone i work with... the potential is definitely there. there's someone i could see myself with. we'll see.
if you were stranded on a deserted island, what five items would you want to have with you?
if i was on a deserted island... i'd definitely want a bow. no, no, wait. i can make a bow. i'd want charcoal, a metal container, plastic tubing, a sharp knife, and someone to pass the time with.
what is your biggest regret?
my biggest regret will always be not getting lizzy the help she needed right away. i will never forgive myself for that. my mistake cost her her life.
